Far from new but... I picked up a vw buggie from a friend for 1200. Frame may need to be replaced but I happen to have one laying around anyway( it's strange the things I've seemed to have collected). Otherwise the fg body is flawless and everything else is all there with a rather newly refreshed engine( one of the larger ones if I'm not mistaken). I was looking for something with better gas mileage to get around town in and considered a crotch rocket but this seems more fun to me.

 

You're talking about an ACVW, right?



I hear if you turbocharge a 1600 dual port you can easily top 200 HP, which in a bug should be enough.



Used to have a ragged-out '71 Super Beetle. It was okay.

 

Yeah it's an acvw. I need to find out from my buddy the engine size. I do remember him saying it was dual port.

 

Not 100% sure, but I think that makes it a 1600.
