Well, some of you may have read my post in the "OTHER CAR" forum about my test drive of the '03 Protege ES. Well, I went back yesterday and picked it up. It's a really nice driving car, and gets good mileage now that I've got 140+ miles on it. It cost me 19K+ due to trade-in taxes, etc...so yes, it will set the SE-X project back yet again, but if I spent another day in that damn hyundai I would have shot myself!!!!

Let me make this statement though..the protege is in no way an rx7, lol...now that I've been driving it for two days, it just lacks. Honestly, I think the protege is the perfect car for my commute to northern Va everyday...but its got no HP!!! I mean, I'm faster then civics...so thats a plus, but still. I love the interior and the creature comforts of the protege. I've got a fully loaded ES model in silver. I'll post pics later....oh and it has a 6disc in dash cd changer w/ cup holders....something the RX7 could have used. I'm happy cuz now I have two silver mazdas!!

They didn't have a mazdaspeed one at the dealership...the just got another MP3 in though...the mazdaspeed protege, and the one I bought have the same interior...i just lack the suspension that the mazspeed one has, oh and the turbo, lol...its all good. The rx7 is still my race car, protege is just for dd...maybe show later, after bills are paid.
