I like Thanksgiving and Christmas for the same reasons, getting together with family and eating a lot. That's always a good thing. I'll always hate the decorations (except for lights on houses, I'd like to see some of that year round) and christmas songs everywhere.

Plus I like giving gifts to people who really appreciate them. My wife, son, brothers and parents and primarily who I buy gifts for. It really does make me feel good to give, and I always try to put a lot of thought into a gift.

My wife already bought a Nintendo DS for our son, who will be 5 in January. I'll be sure to show him how to use it. And break it in for him. And make sure there aren't any bugs, by extensive testing.

I hate the fact that a lot of businesses stay open on Christmas now. You think they could close at least one day out of the year, it takes away from people spending time with their families and just having a day off. And its not like Christmas is a big surprise or anything, yet people waite until the last possible minute to get their stuff done.

Like St. Patrick's Day, and Cinco de Mayo, and Mardi Gras; it's just one of those holidays people "celebrate" just for the sake of having a good time. You're not Irish, you're not Spanish (or Mexican? which is it?), and you're not a Catholic Frenchie. You just want to get drunk and see some skin.

I personally don't like Valentine's Day, just because it's pushed more from the greeting card companies, and hardly at all by tradition. I've seen the latest "holiday" the greeting card companies are trying to push is "sweetest day" whatever the hell that is.
