Baldy Does His South Florida Dance
#11
Had a great time hanging out with you guys! I spilled a full drink on myself, it was sad to see that much Ketel One go to waste.
Trip notes:
Jacksonville is too big city-ish.
Miami still sucks.
The worst drivers are the areas with the most senior citizens, not the most crowded areas (though Miami wins for largest cluster **** of traffic).
It's fun watching a PT cruiser fly by at 100+ mph on alligator alley, then see lights flick on in the median and pull his *** over. Also fun finding out what the "dome override" button is, and see what pitch black at 80 mph is like.
Orlando was awesome. Edna and Torin came down, we went to Magic Kingdom on Saturday. Also the Embassy Suites rocked. $99 a night, with free cocktail hour, free custom made omelettes, heated indoor pool, sauna, hot tub, steam room, and workout room.
Best meal: Mimi's in Altamonte, lots of food for cheap. Followed by Toojay's brunch the next day, yum.
Tomtom is a lifesaver, made the trip sooo much easier than last time with Mapquest printouts.
Pensacola Beach is super nice, and $103 Hampton Inn right on the gulf isn't too shabby either.
Hardly anybody speeds anymore, what's with that? I usually set the cruise at 78 ir 79 (by GPS), and flew past everybody (70 mph limit).
There was other stuff I tried to remember to mention, but forgot.
I can't wait to bring the rest of the family down to y'all's new boat slip soon Scott, and take a day trip.
