No offense Bricke amd you might be an exception But.....

Most people I know who have jumped on the atkins bandwagon are too lazy to actually diet correctly. Having a good diet takes lots of WORK preparing food to eat and then excercising to help loose the excess weight.

A majority of your Atkins dieters want to sit on their *** eat salami and loose weight. They are all stoked that they can pig out on fatty low carb foods and still loose weight.

Like Phins said the Atkins high protien, low carb foods wreck havoc on your kidneys. So do other things I know of 2 bodybuilders that have died in their 30's from kidney and liver failure due to abusing supplements.

All things in moderation. There is a right and wrong way to do things. The root of the atkins philosophy might be right but too many stupid people are jumping on this bandwagon I would imagine the FDA will step in in a few yearss and warn everyone of possible kidney damage after dozens of people are diagnosed with it.

I think people are confusing "lose weight" with "getting in shape." Heck, I could cut off a leg to lose weight, it's fast and easy! But It takes a lot of work to be physically fit (so I'm told, I have yet to try it).

The breweries up here started churning out "low-carb" beer!

Tastes like watered down lite beer (Coors Lite? ) Then they must have added pure ethanol to get it back up to 5% alcohol!

My understanding of it is that carbs = energy (or calories) and are fine to eat, so long as you burn them off (ie. sport or exercise) although I feel a lot of people are misguided by the cereal propoganda - there is no way it can be healthy with the amount of sugar and starch in it. Apparently cereal raises your blood sugar level which then drops off completely about 2 hours later, leaving you tired and hungry - which I can certainly relate to. I also think the dangers of fat are overhyped.
