buy a junk chainsaw at a pawn shop. Use it to cut into the ground a few inches. Push in the wire in the cut and cover it up. easy as that

People usually dig holes with chainsaws? Can I use a shovel instead? LOL Dirt here isn't exactly hard to dig.

it just seems like it would be easier with a chainsaw.. since you only need a hole wide enough for a wire..

Or just use the magic spraypaint they have on the landscaping shows
