I don't own a tire mounting machine. I put it in from the outside. Otherwise it would of been really easy. And in all honestly, next time around won't be that bad now that I have a technique.

I had to change 2 of the stems on the vert BEFORE school one morning. Another guy from school was mad at me, so he came to my house in the middle of the night and cut the stems off at the base. Talk about a headache.

they sell nice portable lifts that lift the car up like 3-4 feet, good thing is you can roll it where you need it and its pretty compact

I remember reading how you were going to paint your truck in the garage, I figured you were still prepping it

make sure your compressor can handle the gun you ordered, most HVLP guns, if thats what you ordered, require alot of CFM at high pressure.

I haven't really messed with my truck much in the past 2 months. Too hot and I've been a little busy myself. Finishing off the floor and I'll be done and ready to paint. I have access to a couple compressors, one smaller, one huge. The gun I bought is a Sharpe 1.3 T1 HVLP GRAVITY, and only require 30psi at the inlet. Its a $300 gun so it should be pretty decent. Then I have another for primer that was cheap, I can throw it away when I'm done if I need to.

Pretty hardcore.

I have a manual mounting machine, but it is hell on the rims, so I only use it to dismount.

I try to leave mounting and balancing to the pros, but is seems tire shops are staffed with cro-magnons, and no one can do a proper balance!

I'm thinking of building a lift. Something Rube Goldberg-esque, hopefully with a manual crank handle to make the car go up. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to do the failsafes.

I'll bet you can buy a used one out of a garage for less than you'd pay for all the steel you'd need to build one.

That is my _actual_ plan, but it would be fun to design and build one.

I've thought about building a set of those ramps that you see infront of some dealerships that tilt to level when the car is up - might be a good way to learn welding.
