I agree with you though. I like turning wrenches on my own personal vehicles. It's fun, you get to know the car more. Blah blah blah!

I get home these days around 7:00, last thing on my mind is changing out a tire valve, its not lazyness, its time management.

Had a gash on the side, like it got bent and cut itself. Left the wife stranded at a baby shower or some girly type event. I was at work and couldn't come with the spare tire, which was convienatly in the garage. So after arguing about the good for nothing pieces of **** she was with that couldn't drive her home, or having to call AAA to tow it home for a flat tire, I was fortunate enough to have Apneablue run over, get the tire, and then find her to change it. Also...there were a few "husbands" around this place at the time of the flat. She calls me and says "we're wondering if we can drive it up the driveway to the compressor in the guys garage. "I'm like...well how long is the driveway...20 miles or something" So after she says its about 20 feet, and these guys want to jack the car up, take the wheel off, pump it up, pulls nails out, not sure where to jack the car up, don't know if you can drive it 20 feet down a driveway, blah blah ****** blah, I was not happy. Then the dipshits didn't know the valve was obviously cut. Some people are so damn stupid sometimes it makes my head hurt.

But its quicker to do it yourself than drive to the shop and have Bo Bo do it for you.

if it was me:

I would go swap it out for a spare, then take it to my friends shop during normal time who would let me use any tool I want, so I still do it myself but I dont have to buy the tool I wont use again

you could pop the bead and get to it from the inside. I've done it. Doesn't take a tire mounting machine.

I don't have anyone who owns a shop around here, unlike NC where I had a shop at my disposal. But I'd rather do it myself anyways and have my own tools, because some day I know i'll change them again. Matter of fact I had my eyes on the 5 dollar set of 4 crome stems that would match the stems on my pickup. And I have a leaky tip on one stem on the FD, but is fine as long as the cap is on. So does another FD buddy. That might be a job for the near future.

Also this week I ordered my paint guns for when I repaint my truck. I'll also be repainting the front bumper of the FD, and another guy's hood and roof where his hood flew off. Have you seen my truck restoration?

LOL, reminds me... don't think I ever mentioned that Apneablue and I plan on getting a lift for the garage come December.
