I have been running a little over 5 miles 3-4 times a week, starting last month. And my joints are fuckning killing me, what am I doing wrong? I was thinking maybe its my shoes, they are only $60 avias, maybe i should get some $120 nike airs? I haven't been warming up either, but I have been stretching before and after and cooling down. This **** is pissing me off cuz i went to work out tonight and I couldn't even run 3 laps cuz my ankle and one of my pelic joints hurt so bad. I have also been getting blisters on my feet, maybe because the new shoes aren't broken in? But i did have **** shoes for the first 2 weeks I ran, so im not too sure of the cause. I was also sick the last three days, maybe thats why my joints didn't recover?

I used to run, now I only run when chased.

Get good shoes, and DEFINITLY do some warm up stretches.

A little soreness is to be expected from a good work out, but blisters mean

change your shoes and maybe even your socks. Chances are if your feet are getting blisters your joints might be aching somewhat from the same cause.

It's funny... I SHOULD like it. Cause it's good for you, and I have to complete a 2 mile qualification twice a year...(2 miles in under 16 minutes..(Harder than you think being 5'6" @ 210lbs...) But I really hate running.. I enjoy it when I don't HAVE to do it. I like hiking and sports MUCH better.

eh, I hiked 35 miles with 95 pounds on my back, it gets old fast.

Yeah... Been there. Did that with the Norwegians in Bosnia. Not fun.

I had a set of shoes that gave me blisters when i walked too much, it turned out they were too big and it was the friction of my foot sliding back and forth just a little bit when walking causing the blisters... i wonder if that could be the problem... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

Many, many, many, MANY years ago, I ran track and cross-country. How old are you? Sick would set you back, even make your joints ache all by itself. Try taking a day or two off. Try taking glucosamine. It's supposed to build cartilage and stuff in your joints. And drink plenty of water.

Blisters are definitely a shoe fit problem. Try different, maybe thicker socks.

Good luck!

High quality shoes are a must. Nike is, in my opinion, are nothing but a name. Try to find a running store which specializes in running shoes. No Foot Lockers etc. because they are nothing but show and no help. On modern shoes there is almost no breakin time. The blisters could be either the shoes, socks chafing, or in my case they just happen. Soreness is to be expected expecially in the joints. Remember to ice and stretch. If you don't want to warm up before your run you could try to incorperate it into the run. For the first mile go slow and gradually pick up the pace. I tried to answer most of your questions, but I can try to answear anything else you might want to know.
