I can't take turbo envy any longer. I've had fun with my NA and it taught me a lot, but for the work involved, I could have done a turbo conversion by now. I've seen a couple respected NA builders express similar thoughts. Torque is good. I need more torque! And that cool spooling sound . . https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif

I'm sick of seeing all these ugly WRXs around here spouting their BOVs. Such plain looking cars and they have something my FC needs. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

teknics 12-09-2003 11:46 PM

turbos are slow.

" and no ones what its like to be the sad man, to be the boostless man"

Its time to join the ranks bud; time for BOOOST!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

pengaru 12-10-2003 12:03 AM

I find it really amusing how people draw this imaginary line between boosted cars and naturally aspirated cars.

it's just another power adder, if you need more go for it, whats the big deal?

88IntegraLS 12-10-2003 12:12 AM

The big deal is I'm working with only 2.6 litres of air / fuel displaced per two eshaft revolutions, not 5.7. I can only do so much with half the air / fuel capacity of an LS-1 my man, and I'm not ready to give up on the perfectly good rotary in the car right now. The coolness and rarity factor for the car goes up with boost, because Turbo FCs are not common. I see more third gens than turbo IIs or converted NA FCs.

Jims5543 12-10-2003 12:12 AM

Nitrous?

mazdaspeed7 12-10-2003 12:44 AM

Saving money for my next project is the only thing keeping me from boosting this motor. The block is prepped for a turbo, its just a few bolts away too...

BigTurbo74 12-10-2003 01:15 AM

haha peng is in the dark,,,hehe j/k man

j9fd3s 12-10-2003 01:24 AM

the turbos fun until you blow the turbo up every time it goes to the track....

13BAce 12-10-2003 01:35 AM

If you want to turbocharge your car then do it. Stop coming here and whining about it. I'm sick and tired of this kind of crap.

88IntegraLS 12-10-2003 01:40 AM

Hey man thanks for the encouragement, and your avatar is f-n classy.

Or the welds on your intake manifold for that manner.

If you want to do something then do it. The opinions of people on the internet shouldn't make a difference. My avatar is what it is because that's how I feel about most people.

defprun 12-10-2003 08:23 AM

It's personal preference. I prefer the ALL-ROTOR approach whereas it is not aided by anything but the type of fuel used. And I like my pistons boosted, dont ask me why! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

haha? where did this come from?

Baldy 12-10-2003 02:06 PM

Is there anyone who prefers n/a? I mean, does the reliability and and less cost count for anything? I just know that if I owned anything with a turbo, I'd blow it up.

j9fd3s 12-10-2003 02:08 PM

i like my na, i can put cheap gas in it, and beat the living piss out of it and not have to worry.

I've been seeing posts like this one forever. They're just getting old. Turbocharging the car isn't a big deal. Just do it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Turbochargers don't blow up engines, people do. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

People do that too...most of the time. The turbocharger is just an innocent pawn in the engine blowing game.

That's what I mean, if it's blowupable*, I'll blow it up.

Jeff20B 12-10-2003 03:24 PM

Peripheral port? What's the prefered spelling?

I've had Turbo FC's for 6 years now, and right now I'm driving an NA one. It's not so bad, BUT my life doesn't revolve around my car, and I don't worry about racing every little pipsqueak with a loud muffler. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Thanks for sharing, and I sincerely appreciate your efforts to bring disrespect to a thread intended to be a fun dialogue with others who might think similarly to the original post.

And if you must know, I am a car enthusiast, not a ricer. I don't race ricers or anyone off a track. I like to drive hard for the fun of it and forced induction might make that experience more intense. So have a nice day, and GET A LIFE too! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif
