Well we traveled to tampa this weekend to continue our quest... our quest has been to buy a sailboat, we had originally decided upon a 30/31 hunter, but when we stepped aboard a 30 foot catalina today we changed our minds.

Her name is "Island Girl" a name which won't anger the gods, we actually looked at one that was named elysium, for the non seafarers that name will mean little, but it's bad.

That said we threw an offer out and if accepted we will pull her out of the water for a full survey. And if all goes well sail her home using the okeechobee waterway, this should be a good maiden voyage for us.

I decided to make the switch from power to sail, something i have dreamt about for some time and finally decided to make it happen. So if all goes well.... let's hope.

"Elysium was a pagan expression that passed into the usage of the Christian patristic writers as a synonym for paradise."wikepedia.

so how is that a bad name for a boat?

I've always wanted to ride on a sailboat, it looks like a totally different experience.
