Has anyone ever researched zen before?

I read about it very briefly, it's the advancement of one's self through solitude.. Or something.. I dunno..

Anyone else know before I go and read about it on google? LOL

Zen:

A school of Mahayana Buddhism that asserts that enlightenment can be attained through meditation, self-contemplation, and intuition rather than through faith and devotion and that is practiced mainly in China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. Also called Zen Buddhism.

Oh yeah and the word "zen" means Quietude.

Anyone who practices an artform or has some type of outlet of creative concentration has found a piece of zen.

Which I think is pimp. LOL.
