()---300zx Vs Rx7---()

300ZX has more power stock and can make more power but it will ALWAYS be the heavier car and does have problems getting the power down. The 300ZX also suffers from oversteer problems while the RX-7 is much more neutral. The ONLY way to work on the 300zx too is pulling the engine while you can easily do stuff to your FD without as much hassle. Due to the weight difference as well the RX-7 pretty much beats out the 300zx in all categories because of that so i won't go into performance much more in that concern. Lastly while the 300zx may be a better daily driver choice the twin turbo models suffer from almost as many problems as the FD. However I do love the design. They are two different cars though and it's hard to compare the two. The RX-7 was an all out pure sports care while the 300zx was the first of the 90s japanese "supercars" and one of the fastest at the time and is closer to the 3000gt in terms of performance. While out of the box the 300zx may have a more usable torque curve and with its dual inline 3 twin turbo system it may be a bit more easily driven than the rx-7 but in terms of modifications it peaks out much sooner in terms of gains.

Intresting, I remember when Car and Driver reviewed the 93 Z and the brand new 93 RX-7. The Z had been Car and Driver's top choice for several years, noting that allthough it was a heavy car it wore it's weight very well.
The Z beat out the RX-7 by like .5 points. Most guys really prefered the 7 but with it's harsh ride and some of twitch power output they opted for the Z.
