Wouldn't it be a lot easier to tune an engine for a boat, I presume they don't need a wide power band at all, because you just go to X rpm and leave it there - would explain all those small outboards that make 300bhp etc. If thuis is the case, it would mean that you could get a much higher peak power figure, because you wouldn't have to compromise less peak-power for a wider power band which a car would need.



I would also have thought that you would't need a massive amount of torque, seeing that there is very little resistance on the propellor in the water, this would make a 20b perfect for the job ,on the other hand I could be talking a load of bollox

that the engine or just the SC? Ok so my theories are well founded, its going rotary. Glad i didnt tell him to go pistons, the power to weight and direction of rotation is going to make that boat HAUL.
