So, let's see...3 days to go, and still 4 deposits counted. So much for 'interested', or maybe they all just forgot?

Will another 6 deposits miraculoulsy appear from seemingly nowhere to rescue this group buy? Will 'interest' turn to 'buy'? Will there be 10 FD's sporting rear diffusers out there on the road vacuuming road debris from the surface, while firmly adhering our cars to the road? Or, will we need to buy them from Japan for DOUBLE the price? I dunno, but tune-in on Stuarday and find out!!

Chuck,

Couple of thoughts:

1) Wasn't there someone willing to lend his diffuser domestically for you to take a mold? If so, this should reduce your cost. Does this change your requirements (lower) for the number of diffusers?

2) If we only have 5 in the group buy, what would the incremental amount to each be to ensure it's worth your while? If it's an additional $25-$50, I'd still be willing to do this, as it is significantly less expensive that going overseas to JT Imports for an original part. How about the other people with deposits in already? Any thoughts?

3) Say that you increase the price by $25 each, don't you think that you will be able to sell an additional amount of diffusers afterwards via your website to make this worthwhile? Add the part to your product catalog.
1. Yes, there is someone willing to lend the diffuser. That actually does not reduce the cost because I offer this gentleman a free one once it's done and if the diffuser he lends us is damaged during the mold process, he is going to get 2 free ones. On top of that, his diffuser has been modified to work with his exhaust system so I might not be able to use it after all. I am still waiting for this gentleman to send me some photos of the diffuser he has to see if it's workable.

2. $25 increase is not going to cover the cost if we just have 5 people. That's only $125 extra but 5 diffusers costs $1750. It's far from it.

3. If people are not interested in it for the price of $350, I don't think I can sell more at regular price when the group buy is over.

Although I really want to help you guys out making something affordable, but at the same time, I can't get into a project that I already know I will be losing money. I am really sorry about it.

If some people need more time, I can extend the deadline for another 2 weeks. Otherwise, everyone will get their refunds on the 28th if we don't have 10 people.

So if you are interested in this, please send in the deposit to get it going. If it does not go through, you will get your refund.

At this time, we only have 5 people.

Thank you.

It may be in everyones best interest to extend the groupbuy for the said two weeks. this will make it possible to atract people from other forums. Has this even been metioned, as a group buy in progress on, the other forums ?

as for my payment:

If this is extended, I will be back in town and can send in a check on Mach 5th.

hope this works out and thanks for the effort Chuck!

FiskeRXseven started this thing 2 months ago! Now, perhaps some of us are quicker to action than others, but there's been ample time for guys to get in on this deal. Not to minimize the value of money, but Chuck only required a $150 deposit so he could get going on this.

Then, he needs to get a diffuser from Japan. Then, he needs to lay-up and create a mold, and then pop-out diffusers. That's got to be another 6-8 weeks, right Chuck? So, the balance for the diffuser isn't due for another couple of months. If you really wantedone of these, it would seem that Chuck requirements are more than fair, and accessible.

I don't know about you, but when I look at the photos that FiskeRXseven posted way back when, how could you not want one of these?!? Plus, it's fully half of what an original part from Jason would cost. The FD cries out for this diffuser. The pro diffuser is way too rice, this one is absolutely right.

Heck, let it ride for another 2 weeks, but if we couldn't get people to fork-over a few bucks by now, another couple of weeks likely will not matter.

Hey, FiskeRXseven, you really need to toss some $ into this, then we'll only need 4 more. After all, when you get the motor back together, you'll need to keep your FD harnessed to ground somehow, no? And once the motor is done, you're going to want a diffuser anyway, and we'll have to go through this whole drill again, and wait another couple of months for it to come together. Have I swayed you?

I was going to try to get the money together and into Paypal by the deadline, but if the deadline gets extended another couple weeks, then I don't see any reason I won't be in on it for sure.

I would have sent the deposit day one, but I was sick most of last month and couldn't work, so I'm trying to regain the cash flow. So my vote is for the extension.

Chuck, any guess as to how much shipping would be to Florida (33872)?
