DIY-RE Productions are pleased to introduce the new release series of “DIY-RE 13B” Do it yourself, Rotary Engine DVD’s.

This series of DVD’s offers a step-by-step, guide to rebuilding a Mazda Rotary engine, using genuine Mazda parts and specifications.

The Do-It-Yourself Rotary Engine series has been 5 years in the making.

Created by Lance Warren and Paul Morgan, it is the first in a series of productions dedicated to the rotary engine.

Paul has a long history with the Mazda Rotary Engine, his uncle, a rotary mechanic, taught him the art of rebuilding the rotary engine when Paul was quite young. Paul has embraced the traditional Mazda rebuild methods and swears by the use of the recommended Mazda tolerances and specifications when building his engines. Paul has built hundreds of engines over the years including race engines. He has several personal Mazda's including a drag racing car he has built.

Lance is well known in the Mazda Rotary community, having built several show winning Mazda's over the last 15 years. His website, www.3rotor.com has served as the benchmark rotary website for many years now. Lance and Paul met on one of Lance's Tokyo Auto Salon tours and they have remained friends since. Lance & Paul often help people with rotary projects and advice and the DIY-RE project seemed the next logical step.

These are hot of the press and are expected to have a delivery time to me of a couple weeks, although I might have my hands on a couple of copies a little earlier.

I will have them on my site shortly for pre-orders.

It has now been confirmed that the price is £54 for the set, I could offer a group discount for 10 sets.

Available here at the moment, but early next week a new site will go up just for the dvd sets.

just a suggestion, you might wanna post prices in USD, since 99% of the forum members are in the United States

KingFD 09-12-2005 08:49 PM

So how much are you hoping to get these for?

Sorry I see. I picked mine up for the same.

artowar 09-13-2005 01:51 AM

How much will shipping cost to the USA?

artowar 09-14-2005 03:31 AM

Also, if we buy through the group buy, does the set come with the exploded view and wall chart that you get when you buy from the following site?

http://www.diy-re.co.nz/

sweet7 09-15-2005 10:10 AM

I guess I'm in.

g11ary 09-15-2005 04:13 PM

The shipping to USA is £10 post and packing, delivery but regestered mail, takes approx 3-5 working days by air.

The wall chart is available to all, there is a regestration card inside, fill it in send it off and a wall chart will arrive, my initial stock will be through to me in approx 2 weeks.

I will look at getting US Dollar on my site, will check to see if software will support it.

blaze08 09-17-2005 06:23 PM

If you can do all that then i'm in TOO!

g11ary 09-19-2005 04:56 PM

yeap same wall chart, you get the dvd and when you regester you are sent the chart, exactly the same as NZ

FikseRxSeven 09-19-2005 06:24 PM

i think it would be cheaper for you to send the wall chart with the videos if you're shipping overseas....

so you got US dollar prices yet?

g11ary 09-19-2005 06:54 PM

looking at the software, it only supports 2 currencies, have been told of a way round this but need to play, Im not that techy on the computer.

Not hard to convert though works out at 83 dollars today.

I looked it up here.

http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html#

The wall chart is controlled by the producers of the dvd, so postage is there worry. But its well worth sending off for.

22GoinOn2 09-23-2005 07:09 PM

Will these DVDs play on American DVD players? I think it needs to be "region 1." If so I'm in. What's the end date for this group buy?

FireTora 09-25-2005 11:53 PM

What format is this going to be in, PAL or NTSC? The DIY-RE site has a drop down menu option for a PAL or NTSC copy.

g11ary 09-26-2005 10:44 AM

They are multi region, so will play anywhere.

Group buy will end Monday 3rd Oct. Although it looks like on 2 or 3 are interested?

If you in then please buy on line at

http://www.rotaryart.uk.com/acatalog/DIY_RE.html

Use payment method as cheque so no money changes hands.

I will manually add discounts and mail back which at that point if happy you can pay by palpal.

yayer 09-26-2005 05:37 PM

I want one!

FikseRxSeven 09-26-2005 06:07 PM

why dont you set the group buy with a set price for the US since most of us are in the USA, and set a set date that is not next week, cuz most people do have to save for this..... it will just be fair for you to give everyone a good amount of warning... this whole thread is a huge confusion if you ask me

Look dude, if you wanna push this product here is what you do. There are plenty of people interested obviously, all you need to do is set a date (not a wk from now) a price in USD. And payment options. I still dont know exactly how much this is gonna be with shipping and all that? Something along these lines...

5 people -$85 USD+shipping

10 people- $80 USD+ shipping

etc etc

Nobody even knows that the stipulations are on this so called "group-buy"

g11ary 09-27-2005 05:57 PM

Sorry for confusion.

I have found a way to add currency to site.

Will be back once added with a package and a time limit more workable.

87GTR 10-02-2005 05:07 AM

so these are shipping from NZ to UK then to us in the USA and Im in Japan so that dvd gotta go like 2 times around world to get to me!!!

so whats the real price?

eyecandy 10-02-2005 08:30 PM

If I could get a pirce I would be in.

22GoinOn2 10-08-2005 10:43 AM

This sounds like it has the potential to be a really good group buy. However we still don't have any information. We still need a price structure(in USD), a quote for shipping and handling, and about a month warning before the end date. Without that it looks as though this won't go anywhere. That would be a shame since there seems to be quite a bit of interest.

g11ary 10-10-2005 10:44 AM

Hi

I have today uploaded a converter that shows dollar prices (approx) and now have shipping tabes uploaded.

My site will only accept one currency, so it has to remain GBP as thats where most of my business is done. But for a group buy of 10 DVD's the dollar price will be $85 dollars and I will ship via registered airmail, which is between 2 to 5 days delivery shipping costs are approx $20 dollars. I will mark package educational so as to lower any dutyies due, which you will be responsible for. Dont know where you are all from and what you duties are.

If you do decide to go ahead and buy, please mark order with nopistons group buy, so I know who you are and will manually amend retail prices to the group buy price, and mail invoice back to you. You can then pay buy paypal.

So when first ordering opt to pay by cheque, that way no money has changed hands, you guys may feel safer that way, when you recieve my new invoice back, if you are happy with the price then go ahead and pay by paypal. You can sit on invoice and not pay until end of group buy if you wish.

This will be easier than me collecting names and addresses and manually entering in to software as people away leave some detail out, the site will collect all details needed for ordering and shipping.

I cant do a group buy on my site as anyone will then get to do the group buy not associated with nopistons.

So bottom line $105 delivered to your door. (invoiced in GBP)

Will run this group buy til 30th November, plenty of time and before christmas.

For those that dont want to wait til end of November I will ship as soon as 10 have bought and paid for, trying to be flexible for you that want it now.

You will have 2 choices on the site, PAL or NTSC. NTSC is used mainly in USA, and DVD's are multi regon so can be viewed on any computer, you will need to confirm PAL or NTSC if viewing on a dvd player.

Hope this is what you are looking for, let me know if I can be of any more help.

Thanks

Gary
