I cant wait to see to 26b, there are going to be some awesome dvd's.

Revised invoice on its way back to you, thanks.

When ordering there is a user defined box, please put nopistons group buy in it, it makes it difficult for me to know who's in other wise, could be a regular customer.

I'm very pleased with my videos so far, thanks!! The order and delivery was top-notch as noted earlier in the thread.

I've only had time to watch the first 30 minutes of DVD 1 "Preparation". I'm a complete rookie at this, but so far I've found the information to be very valuable. They even point out some things to look out for on 12A engines, which is nice.

One thing I was unsure about when ordering was the actual length of the videos. I'm happy to report the instructional content is 3.5 hours, with five indexed chapters on each DVD. There are aproximately 20 minutes of cumulative bonus clips as well. There is no music in the background, and the dialogue is clear, easy to understand, and not rushed.

I think this video is just what I've been looking for to give me the courage to do the rebuild on my own. I think I just wanted to know what kinds of things (wear, damage, etc.) were considered normal, acceptable, marginal, etc.

Hopefully some veteran engine builders can also comment on this video. Again, I've never done this before, so I'm putting a lot of faith into the information and techniques they discuss and demonstrate. I suppose if anything I'll at least be more mentally prepared for what to expect when I actually crack that engine open. Here's to hoping!

Thanks again!

Pleased you like it, dont forget to send off for the wall chart, it free.

Its the one thing that drew me to this dvd, Im a total novice, but its an easy step by step, no rushing, or skipping on, and very professionally done. I have seen other dvd/videos and they have there place but dont come near the quality and of the dvd and information.

Just take you time and you'll be fine. Let us know when you start and how you get on.

GoRacer 11-05-2005 12:10 AM

I received mine. I watched all four of them. The quality of the picture is good. There is step by step detail. I would have liked to see tips, tricks and discussion on various ports, apex seals, etc. I received it within a week and the DVD's were in good shape but the platic jewel boxes were broken in to peices. It puts the Atkins video to shame. I will oder the advanced ones to.

Option6 11-14-2005 03:35 PM

I just received my wall charts. They are really nice. I'm going to frame them for the garage, and then the office when the rebuild is done. Thanks!!

g11ary 11-14-2005 06:27 PM

Glad you guys are enjoying them

Since I paid Ebay price, do I get a discount on the porting video? The bag needs more stuffing since my boxes broke. Not to be a sore buyer, but why was the boxed set only of the engine building DVD's? I think all four of those could have fit on one double layer DVD and then the 3-rotor, 4-rotor, porting, etc would complete the box set and the box with a discount would be a bonus for buying the series together. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

The quality puts the Atkins to shame. I would have like to have seen sugestions and tips. Such as when to use 3mm, how to choose 1-peice to 3peice apex seals, custom mismatching like older eccentric shafts with clearencing or fitting RX8 rotors. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

I agree. I thought that the "box set" would include all of the DVDs. Granted the cost would be a little higher, but I want to buy all of them in one shot and get a bigger discount for doing so.

Everyone seems to be asking about making suggestions. I think this would be an excellent idea for these videos. Does Atkins make suggestions in their vidoes?

g11ary 12-05-2005 06:00 PM

Hi Guys, as far as I know no one make suggestions on any of the dvd's nor its revials. I would be too open to mis-use and incrimination. What the dvd's do, I believe is show how to. There are others in the series that will show tuning etc, but you have to remember that if they showed to the edge every time something went wrong it would be blamed on the dvd. Im sure if your ideas were mailed to the dvd producers they would look at your ideas.

Im sorry you thought you'd get all the dvd's, as only the 13b is made, and shows on my site the others are not available. All the others are in the making or the pipeline.

I sure you would have all been dissapointed with 4 dvds try to cram in all the 6 dvds planned in the series, and you probably would not have liked the cost.

I have been talking to another guy here, I will wait til he has made his order, then close the group buy which was to run until end of Nov, and sadly only 8 have bought.

Im sure when the next one arrives (porting), if enough interest, another group buy could be arranged.

The next dvd will be released in mid Jan (approx).

It's past mid-january.. where's that dvd? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Hi

On sheet 2 you said you wanted one.

Did you buy one?

How did you get on with it?

I will chase to see how close we are to having a release.

Times are approx, and Im sure you would not want it until edited and correct.

Sure it will be worth the wait.

Regards

Gary

Yes I bought the 13b-rew rebuild set if that's what you're asking. I haven't bought the porting dvd, is it available for pre-order?

You can pre order without payment and you'll join the back orders for first dibs.
