So I am putting a S5 turbo engine in my 89 GXL. I have not replaced the fuel pump yet, so I am planning on just getting the Nippendenso upgrade. When I do this will I need to get a fuel pressure regulator? If so, any suggestions?

Sorry, I forgot to mention which Nippendenso. I am planning on the Supra TT pump.

i had a HP walbro 255 in my swapped car but just pulled that and dropped in a denso supra TT pump and love it. its a bit of a tight fit as the pump is huge as compaired to the stocker or the 255.

depends on the set up for if you need a regulator or not. if your goin to keep stock with stock rails then its unneeded but if your goin to be modding it then yes a good FPR that is boost dependant is needed like a areomotive fpr. if you are goin to use the stock rails with an exturnal fpr do not put the vacum line on the stock regulator at the end of the secondary fuel rail. just use the one on the exturnal fpr.

Thanks. I am going to be using stock rails for now. I am porting and running an aftermarket exhaust for now. Before I upgrade the turbo I will be going with an aftermarket ECU.
