Swaping the FD motor to my FC Convertable HELP!
#2
save yourself a LOT of time and $ and just swap in a TII engine from the corresponding series rx7,
although fd engines can handle slightly more power for big power either way the engine needs to be reinforced so ...and unless you NEED more than 450hp which a TII engine can handle fine....

I just need some suggestions and a list of what i all need to make this swap possible. PLz HELP
here is the gospel... i suppose that the swap might be even harder into a vert cause of the extra framing.
TII engine is the easier/cheaper/better way to go, but some people just need to be persistant...

First you need a mount. Attached is a pic of the one I make and am using in my FC.
You could use the stock computer but I dont see the logic in that, get an rew with a good full harness and use the FD power FC with the FD harness and sensors, switch to the FD ignition at the same time...If you are without harness, consider a motec or haltech e8/e11.. you can keep the engine entirely stock with a pfc.
Don't bother with the retapping the centre irons stuff, the FD oil pan has superior shape and baffling compared to the Fc pan. The rest is standard FD upgrades, Ast etc, and convert to AN stainless braided lines for the oil cooler..
The FD fuel system is a little tricker to upgrade, but for most twins, and small singles the easy to do 4x850 with bumped fuel pressure mod will be enough, and no you dont have to add o rings or mill the primary fuel rail for 850 secondaries, it wont leak even if you just jam them as they are contrary to popular belief... You will need a minimum an FD wired fuel pump..
And add front mount intercooler of your choice as well...
I would buy the newest core possible from Japan to start with, there are alot of small but good upgrades on the 99 up motors..
