Okay, I've searched. I'm wanting to put an lsd in my 89 GXL. I have found that many people are swaping in 94+ miata lsd's. I would like to get a torsen lsd, which is what the miatas have. I was asking a guy on ebay that is located in japan if this miata lsd that he is selling would fit in an FC and he said that most guys there use FD lsd's. But will the FD lsd's only fit into turbo FC's? His ads on ebay for the FD lsd's say that they fit all 89-91 FC's. But I'm guessing that he means turbo 89-91 FC's, not N/A's. He also said the miata lsd's look very small compared to the FD ones.

in japan all they have are turbo fc's, all the turbo fc's and the fd and the rx8 use the same size diffy.

all the non turbo rotaries from 84-91 and the 94-05 miata's use the same sized diff. so basically japans the wrong place to ask, cause they didnt have it there.

but yes, any 94-05 miata diff will fit into a NON turbo fc.

the 90-93 miata uses a smaller diff, its unique, unless you have a 323 gtx

By all of this you mean swapping just the internal gears and such and not the entire casing, right? And this is for swapping all the non-lsd stuff with lsd?

Thanks

Andy

Right, I'm going to pull the open diff out, and put in a torsen LSD. So I have to pull the whole differential case out.

I have an 88 GXL that is an open diff. My 86 GXL had a LSD though.
