There a difference between paying a decent price and beating the competition in the same field, and buying total garbage. Your final cost for swapping in that whole motor reflects it too.



What if I told you I found a (used) aluminum racing radiator for $30 bucks.. All it does is make you doubt the quality/craftsmanship.

The reason you have never seen the Supra7 run is because it is not entirely finished. The pics that many people have of the car in Turbo mag are not complete.

The engine in that car is pushing out over 1000whp. The car will be used for drag as well.

So you have put in a 2jz motor with all the fabricated parts. A running motor. Made a custom driveshaft. Custom tranny mounts. Dug out the tranny tunnel of the car to accommodate the tranny. Not to mention making a complete cradle to hold the motor in the car.

If you have done all this, good on you.

Noooo, actually I wouldn't! I would say good for you, glad you acctually took the extra time to look for a better deal! So many people are obsesed with a name, or being new. Name brand parts are fine, and good, but when you can get a no name, or stock part that works just as good, and costs a 10th of the price. Then I would call you retarded not to get the no name one....

Well..... Yes. Just with a 7MGTE, not a 2JZ.

I'm sure you'll understand the comparison I was trying to make once it's up and running.

So you made all the motormounts, tranny mounts, dug out the tranny tunnel, made new driveshafts?



Thats a wack load of work. How did you have the materialc and equipment to do all that for under 2500$. Thats crazy, wish i could have deals like that.

I call around, watch ebay with patients, and surf the local papers, and junk yards for interesting parts that might work.



The tranny tunnel is wide enough for the R154 (turbo supra tranny) you have about 2 inchs on either side of it, but you have to cut the stock rx-7 cross member mount points off. And I took the front yolk of the supra driveshaft, along with the stock TII driveshaft to a local shop. And then put them together for me, at the measurement I told them, and it fits perfect, along with costing me $150.



And so far the only tools we have used is: Saw-zaw, hand held band saw, welder, grinders, cut off saw, air/electric drills. And maybe a few misselacious tools inbetween. But nothing you can't buy at low's.

Kits? I work in a welding/fabrication tractor/trailer repair shop that specializes in heavy haul. My work day includes fabbing replacement parts because they are either too scarce or expensive to replace factory.



Your RX7 is older than you are, I don't know how you consider yourself an expert on reliability and longevity.
