What does being Canadian have to do with it?

Anyways comparing your >2000 USD swap (including motor cost) to the concept of a 'reliable swap' isn't getting you anywhere.

He wants a reliable FD with 2JZ, not play junkyard wars.

wanta be boosted 03-02-2004 06:07 PM

well, we'll see how reliable it is...

I applaud your efforts on doing something different with your rx7 even if it means swapping another manufacturer engine in replacement of the rotary. and as far as having a cheap toyota engine in there ...it would still be cheap to rebuild that toyota 3 times and still be cheaper than 1 rebuild for an rx7 engine with the type of shady rebuilders we have floating around...now how reliable is that.....

there's a guy in florida that actually put a rb20det in his rx7 and I dont see any1 flaming at him about his cheap engine and he is doing 10.51 in the 1/4 mile..

that's interesting i've never heard of that one before....wheres it at? miami?tampa? i'd like to see it in person

2jz is not cheap nor is an rb20det.

But there is no way it will cost 10k. The fabrication of all the components you will need will cost well over that. The yellow Supra7 was all custom done. And WELL over 10k in fab work.

As for being Canadain, lay off. Everyone likes us, maby there is a reason for that.

And who gives a crap if you live on a farm or not, its good that you can build your car yourself wherever you live. Props for that. But not many people have the equipment or skill to do such things.

Good luck with you 7, i hope to hear stories about it running soon.

Most all of the fabrication to do is usually grunt work... Not so much work that requires high fabrication skill, most is just cutting, sanding, grinding, so forth....

If you go to a tech college take a welding class, then go hand around a steel shop, and learn how to fabricate stuff. Then You could do it your self for $10,000 and less.

And the SP supra7 car cost way more, because it is a show car. I would seriously dought if that car has been driven more than 50 miles in it's life so far. They just had to engenieer it to look good. I could very well be wrong on that, but I have never seen it run in any video or anything....

Also I will be blowing most of you prices out of the water. I finally have the money to completly finish my supra7 (due to haveing to sell my baby, a 1937 John Deere https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR ) Anyways, I should have it running withing 2 weeks, and it will take about $1000 bucks. And that is with a new paint job https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png So that brings MY price to $2500.
