you can make 1000hp on a v8, which will be lighter, cheaper, and it prolly fits better

mike
i suggested that too... even though i would suggest a 20b, but if you want piston, get a v8 transplant

OK, do you realize that those are NOT stock cars at all!!!

Those are fiberglass shells on a tube frame, or a "funny car", and the driver of the K&N car, has talked to the guys that interveiw them after the races. And he always says, "he's just thankful it made it down the track".

Those cars, are incredibly unreliable, NOTHING close to stock, probably useing HUGE turbo's, and are definately not running off of pump gas. Don't you think that is a little bit off of what this guy, or anyone else could EVER consider useing in there street car?

i was just making a point that they can become 1000hp. reguardless if it's runing on methanol, or huge turbo just making the point they have had 1000 hp 13b's. I remember reading in sports compact car this dude with a cym having 1000hp for his track car.

The word "reliable" is a motor that this thread was talking about, not a motor with a 2 minute life.

Wantabee, you have to realize this thread was started with the question of if a person could drop a RB26 into a RX-7, As most people in the US do not even have a clue what this engine does nor the cost involved in the process for it, people that knew what the swap entailed replied, Now you come in bashing every answer that anyone places on here, over claims you have no idea of. The simple fact that a 2 rotor cannot make 1000hp and be street driven is about the same claim you could make for a RB26 at that power level. These are things we deal with, and in fact some dream about. The facts are out there, there are 1000hp cars of all different makes and models, some have transplants some use their factory powerplants, but the fact remains, all these 1000hp monsters are usually not daily drivers, and if they are, the reliability of them is short lived. I will agree the 2JZ and RB26 have better reliability when it comes to high hp applications, what I do not agree with is the mentality you have that an import piston engine will always outperform a rotoary engine. On the average, most modified street and daily driven cars rarely exceed the 500hp mark. So as far as being owned, I will let you determine your own fate, but the argument is pointless. Someone will ALWAYS have a faster car at some point.

My engine this My engine that...******* STOP...simple the RB is a good power plant heavy yes...and would cost a **** load to swap into an fd or fc... and the parts are very expensive hks and jun sell stroker kits for them not one under 5k!! and a good intake manifold easy 1.2k! the parts for them are just ******* expensive..you better have real real real deep pockets...and I also had a GTR while in japan...was an R-32. the best thing would be to just swap in a 20b with some minor work done and a good turbo set up...easy pump 500whp out of it..and that would be more than enough to take care of most street challenges.. and at 500 whp would still last a good long time if treated right.

The seb supra, wich isn't to a 1000 HP, but is very close at a lovely 715 HP.

Chris Chow's GNX Twin Trubo. Which is throwing out just over 1000 HP.

Now, I don't know how reliable those 2 cars are, but they are going to run longer than a rotary with 1000 HP. For the simple reason that they are bigger displacement engine's, and can handle the power better.

And if someone can up load the video's I have of them, then your more than welcome, but we have vid's of each of those cars on the dino's. And there are also numerous MKIV's that are running 1000 HP, and still running for over 1/2 the year.

Loi, the Owner of SportsCar Motion has a V8 mustang with 1000 hp street driven. Even has A/C. Runs 9's quarter mile with slicks.

I don't understand why people think GTR's are bulletproof. It takes alot of work on any engine to get 800 plus hp. I am very anti-piston eng going into 7's, it shows that people aren't willing to learn something different.
