Just purchased an 89 GTUs with a bad motor. Want to know if a Series 5 TII motor would bolt up to the GTUs tranny, or would I have to use the TII tranny and a custom driveshaft. According to this website the GTUs and TII tranny are the same but with a different 5th gear. http://beyondtheredline.fd3s.net/GTUs.html

Also, how difficult would be to wire this up if I got the wiring harness with it. Shouldn't it be pretty much plug and play?

Mike,

Thanks for the info. So, as far as wiring is concerned, I don't have to cut and splice any wires, just plug and play?

Vosko,

Sorry I've commited myself already. I bought a complete Series 5 motor, tranny, AFM, wiring, etc.
