www.rx7.com... for a Haltech

if you need an adapter for teh transaxle to 13B... do a search for kennedy engineering.

cool swap!!! although you may find it a little easier doing one of the single turbo engines..

microtechefi.com

haltech.com

those are 2 of the major ecu's lots of the rotary guys use. there are others, but those 2 are about the most popular. have you ever done a stand-alone before?

other than making it run, you're gonna need to work some trickery with water and oil cooling. heat kills these things, so you'll want to pay extra close attention to that.

you need to get your tranny/gears strengthened as well.

putting a TT engine in there would be an incredibly tight fit, ive never seen anyone do it before, but ive seen a single turbo one before. your also going to need some small little motor mounts made to support the back of the engine.

trannies are easy to come by for bugs though. and modified trannies aren't all that expensive, right?

you definetely wanna go stand alone, this has got to be one of the best swaps available.

I do know for a fact there is an option to go 13b to VW tranny, it's used a lot in the sand rail market.

You might want to consider going with the bus tranny, get the lower gearing and the cv's if you don't have them already.

Where's the PICS??????

http://www.kennedyeng.com/ sells rotary to VW adapters, I agree, you will DEFINATELY need the bus transaxle to support that kinda power OR a a porsche transaxle.

It IS one of the coolest swaps ever..

Infact, i have been working on a similar swap today. we are using a Porsche 930Turbo gearbox to try to keep things together this time " 911turbo boxes lasted about 2months each"

If youre going with a VW transaxle the bus one is the best.

From what i see on our project you will have no problems making the twins fit, we have loads of space on the sides..

Using the original rear plate mounts on the FD engine will give you more than enough support for th eengine.

Here's a couple videos of our bug when it was running about 350 - 400rwhp, on v2.0 it will have complete Porsche 930Turbo breakes/gearbox, custom coilover suspension, full cage and 600+rwhp

never seen that page before, but im not that much into bugs..

main goal of our bug was to do something none around here had done before, and create some attension for the company.

the beetle is now sold, but to a close friend that was involved in the first stage of the project and he is making it better.

what we love is the rotary engine, and what its capable of.

New company project car is the RX-2, back to the old school, with some help of modern technology.. . Last year we broke the 500hp line with our 12a Turbo, this year we hopefully break the 600hp barrier.. and adding some driveability "read traction" to it..
