13b Question...
#1
I bought an 85 gsl-se someone put a 12a in b/c they were broke....pretty hacked up job too. I want to go back to a fuel injected 13b....is there a difference in the 13b block of 1st gen and 2nd gen engines? I may have a donor car for the electronics and intakes etc, but the motor is shot. Could I put the gsl-se intake and everything onto a 2nd gen 13b block? Thanks.

No, the 2nd gneration is a 6 port intake, which has auxilary ports that open at 3500 RPM's (or about there), and has 4 injector, opposed to the gsl-se's 13B 4 port engine that has 2 big injectors.
Along with other difference's, but they are not the same.
Although you could put a 13B 6 port in a 1st gen if you were to put the front cover off of the 13B 4 port onto the 13B 6 port. Because raceing beat sells the engine mount that you need to do that, so all you have to do is swap front cover's, use there enigne mount system, and drop it in (I'm pretty sure that's about it). And you also use the stock 1st gen tranny.

Basically uou would beed a long block, ECU, wireing harness, 2nd gen fule pump (I think, unless the stock gsl-se will put out enought fuel pressure). And I quess that is about it, if you go onto the rx7club, there a TONS of posts in the 1st gen section, and other engine swap section. About putting 13B's (2nd gen motor's) into 1st gens.
