How To Download Maps Without Encoding

Hello,i have tried to download some maps from this forum which is no problem,but when i try to open the maps i can't see it because it is in some form of encoded writing which i do not know how to decipher,any help appreciated,thanks Roy.

Sounds like you need to open them using the haltech program. I can post it up if you don't already have it.

Post it. I don't have it on disk or my PC, just on my laptop.

sometimes you need to change em to the right file extension too

I downloaded the program but i still can't look at any of the posted maps for some reason,i open them and it is still encoded and has a box where you have to choose the encoding for the file-unicode utf8,unicode utf7,oem united states,turkish,central european etc (about 35 different types) but none of them let me view the maps.Any more help would be appreciated,thanks Roy.

Are you right clicking and doing a save as? I just downloaded the program I uploaded and another map someone had posted, and it worked for me. The file extention needs to be .6KM on the maps.

My friend got it working for me in 2 minutes,i can only do the basics with computers,thanks for the help.
