Wolf 3d Ver. 4.0
#1
ok here is a question,
i sold my old wolf 3d 3.0 and now have a 4.0 and with the new ecu i wanted to run 4 independant coils so i have a set of bocsh coils on there way. i was running the stock s5 coils on the old motor ecu set up and now with the cosmo motor and the new ecu i wanted to clean up the engine bay by mounting coils to the motor like the fd.
there inlies the problem i need a coil ignitor to fire off the new coils with the new 4.0 . wolf ems told me to run the vw/ bocsh ignitor found on 98 and up passats. now working in a vw/mazda dealer i know that that part is not trust worthy and fails all the time so is there an alternative?

if you get the original bosch part, (not the generic) it will last you fine if wired correctly and mounted to a suffecient heat sink. Mine has been installed running 4 msd coils for almost 2 years now. The heat sink is the key.
