Ok. So "Rotary Speedster" blew his engine a while back, and I rebuilt/ported it. At the begining of the job we decided to also swap a 5-speed tranny into the car as the auto sucks. He was going to get some tuning on his PMS done, but about a month ago bought an E6K.

I've been looking around online for info regarding the installation, and the only really descriptive things I could find are the HITman's site and the ricemobile site. I'm still looking for some more info, however, because on the ricemobile install, he splices into the harness right by the stock ECU. I'm unsure if he leaves the stock ecu in the car, or takes it out. I know the basics of wiring all the sensors up and all, my confusion is with the gauges and a few other things.

Right now, my plan was to basically do what is described on the ricemobile website, except that I'm going to run new wires into the cockpit so that nothing is left to chance. I know that the water level sensor, and probably the other sensors for the gauges run through the harness that hooks to the battery, and then into the car through the front harness. One thing is I'm having trouble identifying what every pin is for on the connectors for the ecu and the connecting harnesses. I've got a service manual, but damn can it be hard to read sometimes.

ANY help and advise will be appreciated. I can figure it out on my own, but it will probably take 5 times as long, and involve much backtracking. So I will be grateful for any help I can get.

if you take out the ecu in the fd the only guage that doesnt work is the tach and i think if you take out the engine harness the water temp guage stops working.

So, do you take out the ecu and harness and just run

aftermarket tach and temp gauges? What about the speedsensor, I thought it ran to the stock ecu?

Does anybody run the stock ecu and the E6K?

the haltech has a tach output, and you can run a new wire for the stock temp guage. the speed sensor runs to the speedo first i thought? a piggyback setup can and prolly has been done before, you just have the e6k do timing and fuel and the stock ecu can run everything else
