how many load inputs does the wolf use? the stock ecu uses 2 (the map and afm), the haltech only uses one, and you can tell in the hills.

mike
Same thing, just a MAP sensor. It's possible to use the TPS for load sensing, but I'm not sure that if you can use both. I know that the Microtech MTX8 can do both, as well as TPS under vacuum and MAP under boost.

hmm, maybe the microtech has an advantage over the haltech after all

In the manual they talk about it being a good feature for heavily ported rotaries and/or piston cars with a wild cam, since it's difficult to get consistent vacuum readings with them.

the haltech can do that too, but i notice that the haltech doesnt do well in the hills, because it cant really tell between a slight uphill and a slight downhill. same rpm same vacuum reading

You mean that the MAP sensor is reading the same vacuum reading at the same RPM both uphill and downhill, right?

yup, and it runs crappy at light throttle downhill, but it occured to me that the closed loop might fix that, its off. other than that and cold starts it runs great

Yeah, the fine tuning is the hard part.

Another option to look at for engine managment is the Greddy E-manage. It costs about 550 if you get all the options [main unit, software/pc cable, injector harness, and ignition harness] and it plugs into the stock wire harness. Also they have a new boost controller coming up that will interface with the unit via a 4" LCD, it all looks pretty cool and seems to be a great system.
