I purchased a running FD twin turbo out of a 93 RX7. I was allowed to take everything. No wires cut. Complete with ECU and TCU.

I have it all mounted in a 914 Porsche. I am just finishing the cooling, oil, fuel plumbing. I need to start on the wiring. I have found all of the stock wiring diagrams.

I am looking for more help on minimum connections needed to get the engine up and running.

anything helps.

its safe to assume that if one is to make something "standalone" then one would have to use a "standalone" ecu made by many different manufacturers and featured all over this board. microtech comes to mind as the simplest way possible if thats what your looking for

to run it just needs power, fuel and ignition, and most of it is on the engine harness.

there are a couple of things on the dash/body harness plug, like the map sensor that it needs too.

i just took a piece of paper and listed all the pins of the ECU, it makes it a lot simpler. i also like to install the wiring without wrapping, as you should make sure it all works and the ecu isn't throwing codes ETC ETC first. then once its run for a while you can pull and wrap.

the manual actually lists this stuff, but for most of the error codes the ecu just checks for opens or shorts, so you can use a resistor, or leave the thing electrically plugged in.
