Hey guys. I just completed my haltech install about 2 months ago and am creating a webpage to help out others who may questions with with theirs. As some of you already know, the manual sucks and if you've never installed one before you will be spending more time emailing people for help than actually installing the computer. If anyone has any questions regarding the haltech, this will definitely be an excellent place to ask.

I've got my Haltech in, But now would like to clean things up. Can I remove the EGR, and all those hoses under the manifold???



What about the BAC? Can I remove it also? It's not connected to anything with the Haltech.

You can remove the EGR valve. If you still have your AC hooked up then I would not remove my BAC valve. You will need it for the car to idle properly under load. If you are not using it as you, as you mentioned in your post, then you can rmove it and block it off. You can remove a lot of hoses from under the Intake Manifold. My engine bay is very clean. I think I only have a few vacuum lines. Give me a list of what you want to remove and I will try and help you out.

Okay I think I know this answer but... Where did you run your vacuum line from your pressure regulator. Normally this goes through a soleniod to vacuum. I was going to run it to vacuum near the BAC.



As I understand it, When Vacuum is pulled on this regulator it reduces emissions and should be done so under deceleration or idle (When Vacuum is high).



Another weekend to clean up wires and hoses and I should have it.

Work in Progress



PS:I did go with the Mazdatrix EGR plate.

The fuel pressure regulator can be run to any boost/vac source on your intake manifold. I have mine connected to the nipple that's sits down on the engine under the secondary injector rail. it is angled towards the firewall. This is the closest spot to my regulator. My regulator operates like this:



right now I have my base (idle) pressure set at 50 psi. (I know this is a little high but I don't want to turn it down right now because it will cause me to run lean. I will turn it down when I have the car on a dyno. I feel safer this way.) When I am under light load, cruising while car is under vacuum, the pressure drops to 45 psi. When the car is boosted, the pressure is raised 1:1. At 10 psi of boost my pressure is at 60 psi.

I'm not sure lowering the pressure at light load does anything for emmissions. I think the engine just doesn't need a lot of fuel at that moment, so the pressure can be dropped a little without risking engine damage.
