so i finally get the haltech software working on a laptop my friend let me borrow, try to turn it over a few times. no go, i'm like "ok, no sweat. prolly something i did wrong on the settings". go back fnd out i forgot to set the aux out to staging signal, no prob. check fluids, oil is low so i decide to go to wal-mart and get some oil. go to wal-mart get oil, decide to get some food too. get home, top off oil, everything seems to be in order so i decide to try cranking again. turn the key....nothing....i'm like "riiiiiiight, thats not cool". check everything over again seems ok, but nothing happens when i turn the key cept for fuel pump priming. turns out i killed my starter those few times i try to turn it over, i swear if it isn't one thing its another.......meh

hey that's how **** works, but it is a lot less mind straining if you do everything right instead of taking shortcuts, just don't burn yourself out and you should be fine....

well, replaced the starter. tried to crank no go, tracked the problem to no fuel. tested the fuel pump working good. unplugged the return fuel line from the secondary fuel rail, primed the fuel pump. no fuel got through, fuel pressure regulator not working. the fuel pressure regulator works off boost or vacuum?

the FPR runs off manifold pressure, boost and vacuum, it wants the same signal as a map sensor.

should i fill the fuel rails with fuel manually? i don't understand why fuel isn't getting past the FPR when i try to start the engine.

here's another question, my trigger signal from the coil negative is showing 12 volts with the key turned to the on position. but my haltech isn't getting an engine rpm reading. any ideas why?

it needs like a tach signal to work, so it should be switching. with the haltech no rpm signal = no fuel

shouldn't it show something if i try to turn it over? the haltech manual says it should show 100-300rpm, it was showing about 180 or so but now it doesn't show anything when i try to crank.

yes when the engine is cranking the haltech needs to see rpm, if it says 0 then it will never start

i feel like such an idiot, after the past week of trying to figure out why the haltech wasn't seeing spark. my friend comes over and says "hey, you checked the plug wires yet?". sure enough, the plug wires had gone bad. i'm such an idiot, i can wire up a haltech but can't remember to check the plug wires. sheesh...
