your gonna be better off buying a larger turbo and running it at low boost
|
Well my plan is to get a street port 89-91 motor. Then do the whole intake, full exhaust, maybe up grade the primaries a bit, definatly upgrade the secondaries, Better, maybe bigger turbo , Fmic , lightened fly wheel. and clutch and stuff. OH AND BEST OF ALL A HALTECH E6K!

Hey, cool eyeball avatar, Cabrio.
I'm going to take my '88 tII to the strip soon. It's bone stock. I'm guessing it'll run about 14? I aim to replace the exhaust from the turbo back. I'm thinking eliminate the precat with a downpipe, run a high flow stainless cat, and a nice cat-back. My question: Will the free-flowing exhaust cause an increase in boost such that the factory fuel cut will be a factor? I don't want to spend over 1200 bucks on the exhaust and find out I've got to upgrade a whole poop-load of other stuff just so I can wind it out with my foot on the floor. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif So you see my dilemma... :P |
with my 87 i bought 88 j-spec which ck'd in with 95 psi on both rotors, Rotary performance downpipe and fcd,carter highflow fuel pump which did not require a fpr upgrade,ACT extreme pressure plate with 4 puck bronze clutch. also i used everything that came with the j-spec engine. the car ran 14.2@97mph on it's very 1st run spinning the tires off the line, i might have bettered that time but a certain member on this forum wanted to go home. turns out i hurt a coolant seal on the way home from his house which destroyed the rear rotor housing dropping my compression to 75psi on all 3 sides! i think a 13 was obtainable with a better set of tires since i broke traction everytime i shifted down the 1/4!

well I am running a stang...
Bone stock 14.86 @ 96mph recent 14.42 @ 99mph All I did was replacement factory clutch Cold air intake Electric cooling fan and an oil change! lol Oh the 14.8 was my first time ever down the track... I hope to see 14 flat... I still need to get my exhaust fixed also. I dont think I will be able to pull a 14 flat yet... will need the exhaust fixed and maybe underdrive pulleys. I am looking into the exhaust... my flanges are rusting on my exhaust and it sounds horrible right now... though seems to give the car nice topend! lol |
im running stock 91 TII and my first run was 14.5 with my tires squeeling.
I hope to have atleast 13.9 next time i go up... |
my TII ran 15.2 bone stock. +++ mods = 13.7 @100 https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
