Just got my car back from the shop today with a Power FC, boost gage and air/fuel gage installed and some dyno numbers from the tuning.

I have a 1993 automatic trans, RP downpipe, Bonez high flow cat, apexi N1 dual exhaust, apexi power intake and apexi power fc. engine has about 15k on it and turbos have about 6k on them, and the trans has about 3k. Running stock boost levels.

MAX POWER: 235.1

MAX TORQUE: 196.7

Do these numbers look low to you given my mods? Is it the stupid auto tranny?

I was expecting bigger numbers...

stock for a 5speed is about 220rwhp........ you should have like 250-260rwhp with those mods.... something is wrong...... i would have a good shop lookover the car

Thats what I am thinking... but I hear stock automatics run about 190hp stock. So if thats true, I have made about 45hp with my mods...

Even so, it still seems awfully low.

Anyone else have dyno numbers from an auto tranny FD?

Wow, I really want to do a 5speed swap.

They do make a lot less power so your prolly in the ballpark. Take off the mods and buy a manual!!

Actually, I you need a high performance tq converter.

A tq converter is to a auto what a clutch is to a manual. If your tq converter cant harness all that power its just sliping away

There are shops that make a performance tq converter that works with a fd but I dont know who it is. You'll just have to hunt them down unless someone else here know who it is that makes them

Does anyone know anyone (or themselves) that has an aftermarket t/c. Precision Industies doesnt appear to make any for RX-7s (they are the biggest T/C maker). But perhaps someone else does make one. Or anyone know companies that make/sell them? Thanks
