If you run lean, you will not see a dash warning light because Mazda never intended for you to really modify the car, lol. Your best bet will be to get the Air/Fuel gauge and see if your running too lean or too rich...then you can decide where you need to go from there. If your running that 8.25psi you should be somewhat safe, but all you'll probably need is the fuel controller that will allow you to up the injectors load enough to get by. If you want to go higher then the 8.25..I'd suggest larger fuel pump or injectors...the stock IC is also only rated at 10psi...so don't go higher then that for now...
Maybe I should do a writeup for the T2s like I did the NAs, it will help answer many of the questions new T2 guys have...

Actually, instead of me doing a writeup...spike, go to this link:
http://fc3s-pro.com/TECH/FM2W/power.htm
it should explain a lot of what your thinking...

Thanks all...
That link helped.
Just a few more questions (I know)
-What oil weight should you use?(I'm currently using 5W-30)
-When the fuel gets cut is it rather noticable?
-Does the FSM say where to hook up a fuel/air gauge?
-What ratio should it be at?
-Whats the tolerance?
Spike

Guys, that link is great!
Spike, the only question I can answer is the first one... I've heard that Castrol 20W-50 is the best oil to run in a rotary. Maybe in the frozen north in the winter, you should use something lighter, but I'm not sure.
I think the optimal air-fuel ratio is around 14 to 1, but you'd want to stay a little rich to prevent detonation.

Yea, you should use something a little heavier then what you are as far as oil goes. That link is a really great site to browse around if you've got the T2. As for the air/fuel guage, the FSM does not tell you where one goes, but its simple...the air fuel guages normally have 3 wires...one is a positive, another is a ground, and the last one is the signal input. You tap the signal input(usually a purple wire) into the o2 sensor AFTER it connects to the main harness, that way your getting the signal as it is returning to the ECU.
As for fuel cut, it is very noticeable...the car will immediately shut down the rear rotor which is like cutting HP in half...you'll feel it, trust me.
