I'm trying to get moved out onto the peninsula. Know of any openings for a mechanical engineer? If I'm out there, I'd love to help out/plan. So, find me a job in St. Kitts/the falls, and I'll do it.

Last i heard Bruce Power was hiring. They have dreams of replacing the boiler for the unit 1 reactor for Bruce A nuclear. That involves demolishing 1/2 a building breaching "containment" and removing the old boiler, re-installing a new one and making a new containment building.

Cheers, have you ever been outside of Kingston? Do you know where "Bruce" is? Do you know where Niagara is? Alright then... lol.

I'm working on applying to OPG, but at Sir Adam Beck, but the goddam application is 8 pages long! Also, I need to dig out my contacts at John Deere, worked there for co-op. Other than that, I've answered a lot of workopolis and monster ads, and sent resumes to 4-5 little consulting firms.

Am I to assume that you are a techi? or Bsc?

Applying through workopolis is tricky as most of them are agencies collecting resumes. If you want to stay in auto inustry, keep in mind that GM will pour in $$$ into Oshawa, windsor and St. Catharines. So apply in their website.

BASc, Mechanical Engineering. I'm actually working in Oshawa for the general. I've been trying to transfer to St. Catherines Engine, but my HR Dept. doesn't seem to want to make the effort. I'm kind of tossed up on the whole auto industry thing. I'm not really learning much, so I am just seeing what else is out there. I've found some neat companies in the area that I've sent resume's to, but the volume of jobs in St. Catharines is 1/10th what it is in TO/Mississauga.

I've also been thinking about Niagara College. There is some potential that I could get a teaching position there, but I may need to get a Masters before that possibility opens up.

Some don't even have Peng. They hire them base on their experience. Go and ask. (college)

Word has it that powertrain will have lots of retirees. So just keep trying and once your'e in come and get me away from DANA.

Also I do agree with your findings as I am trying to get out here. TO and south west seems to be the hotspot for automotive.
