Any one out there on here from Central Alberta? With a 7? Anyone know of anything in Alberta for Import nights and cruises?

New to the area and looking to meet some new people.

Welcome to nopistons!

I'm in Calgary. I think most of the westerners are on on the other forum. We had a great turnout (13 RX-7 owners in 11 cars) at an Oct '04 Calgary meet, however I haven't heard of anything more recent than that.

My car is still down for engine and bodywork, and keeps getting pushed back by the time and financial restraints of "reality". The warm weather and the arrival of an RX-3 manifold and carb have pumped me up for some winter garage work. The '79 will ride again!

Me and a buddy down here in Red Deer have 2 1986's. His is currently NA, same with mine. I am just awaiting the oppurtunity to get a 10000dollar loan to get me a turbo 2 mototr! Built by a guy down in the states.... Doing a complete swap.

My car is sitting in the Quanset, on jack stands, with no wheels. no exhaust. and the motor being prepped to yank. Just waiting to see if I can get an engine hoist of have to he man it out like I did the one on the 88.

Do you know of anyone selling TII drivetrain parts? and 5bolt Hubs?

Sorry, I don't have the money/time/inclination for a TII swap so I don't really keep my eyes out for that stuff. The filter in my head mostly sticks to < 1984 parts! As for the 5 bolt hubs, the only two things I've put any research into have been the cpracing.ca conversion hubs and a complete swap from an '84 GSL. In my case with the '79, I'd get rear disc brakes and an LSD at the same time. I'm not sure how well either of those would work out for your '86. Do some research, search the forums (I can guarantee many have asked before), and post a topic in the 1st Gen forum. I would also recommend browsing or joining the mailing list at http://www.sa22c.org/

Good luck!
