Do you know how many table dances and drinks you could buy for 13 Large? Damn sure enough to forget about that smoking car

Seriously though thats unfortunate, speaking of drinks, I'll raise my glass to speedy repairs and hundreds of miles of copless backroads

Salud!

omp = oil metering pump.

Running without OMP isn't as bad as I thought it would be. My rotor housings like me more now too!

just had to replace my OMP, but my symptoms where different...my FD turned into an oil pit. Drank it like crazy but no really bad smoke (other than normal straight pipe no cat, running rich so my engine doesn't die smoke)

and no oil in engine compartment...

just my experience...

Thanks for the input guys..

I guess there really isn't a way to make sure other than yank everything (again) and pull the whole pump assembly. I figure if it's stuck open (Still sounds unlikely) it'll do it plugged in or unplugged.. dammit..

I did talk to the guy that built the motor and he said seals were perfect. Plus, as many here and on the other forum have stated.. Idle would be the strangest place to see the symptoms of bad oil seals..

I'm really puzzled why I've had the car running for like 40 minutes at a time ******* with the idle, and it NEVER smoked.. It just all of the sudden started.. Actually, RIGHT affter I took out 25% fuel at idle to try and get this fuckker running right..

I don't think it's the OMP personally, you make it sound like it's a mess of oil, the passage from the front housing for the OMP is tiny it's not putting out tons of oil. I'd look at the turbo side of things first.

and you said it smoked a bit when you first started it, then it went away, then it started smoking bad again... this just doesnt seem to add up to OMP failure, especially if you're suspecting it's been bad since the last motor, it would have just smoked nonstop from the time you started it, no?

Did you have oil in your intake. Thats the prob. I have now along with the smoking fromt he exhuast. It was funny to see old ladies in their car obviously waving their hand to show that it smelled and wanted me to get out of their way. Anyways on top of that I think I need to be on NP life support also.

Well oil control rings? Did you build the motor yourself? When you install the OCR if you dont push it down far enough it can cause the oring to get smushed and you will have a smoking tail pipe. I have seen it before. Or if the spring and metal case are worn out it can smoke big time aswell.

One more thing is Side seal clearence. If you shave to much off it can smoke aswell.
