My transmission is acting wierd, everytime i try to put it in 5th gear it makes a grinding noise, and yes i have my foot pushing down on the clutch. It just started doing it today. has anybody every had problems like this? what is it?

yeah sounds like the synchro is toast. try rev macthing and let us know if that works. otherwise dont use 5th

 

Yea, who needs 5th gear..

 

learn to double clutch or learn you engine.. my 5th gear synchro is shot, but i can shift it without grinding.

 

my 5th gear was GONE.... that was fun

 

Mine is fucked up too. So bad that I get grinding w/ double clutching.

 

damn that sux! how much to fix it do you think? and will it get even worse if i use it all the time?

 

i had a quote of roughly 450 once for the fixing of the 5th synchro. do not quote me, it was a couple of years ago...

i dont know where u are but KDRotary in PA will do it for 420, thats parts and labor. they have great prices but ull have to wait till he can fit u in.
