Sometime this week I'll take the struts out again and raise the spring perch for the Koni Yellows. Right now it's on the middle setting. I'll move it to the top which is about 1cm higher. Hopefully that will help some.

Good info, i am also looking at the Koni's and RB, but heard good things about the H&Rs which are progressive and good for everyday driving. As i understand it the RB lower .75/1.5 f/r, but the H&R 1"/1".



Were you having problems in the front or back or both?



I am running 18" wheels and worried about too much travel on the front.

 

Well... it seems to scrape the most in the front but the bump stop slamming problem seems to be worst in the rear.

 

how much might that group buy be?

Ok... I took the struts back out today and moved the spring perch from the middle to the top level.



Much better but not perfect.



It no longer slams the bump stops in the back which was my main concern. However it does scrape the front left sway bar bracket over dips or if I turn to the right really hard.



This might be because of my fat *** in the driver seat so I cranked up the stiffness on the front left shock and we'll see if that helps.

 

How does the car look on the top setting??? Thats supposed to the the stock strut height so I imagine it should look like a stock suspension car that has lowing springs. Is that pretty much how it looks? Did firming up the Koni's keep it from rubbing? Check and make sure your front anti sway bar is installed properly. That could be the problem if its not right.

I'm taking the car back out tonight so I'll get back to you on wether the increased firmness helps the scraping on the front left sway bar bracket.



Yes, on the top Koni spring perch the car looks like a stock car with lowering springs. When it was on the middle perch it looked pretty low. Now it looks a bit higher especially in the back. It looked kinda cool before but I'd rather have a car I can drive than a cool looking low rider.



I put in the Racing Beat sway bars along with a Racing Beat reinforcement brace. Of course the larger diameter sway bar and the addition of the brace between the mount and the sway bar bracket must make it somewhat lower to the ground. Perhaps this is my problem.

 

Well... I took the FD out for a full shakedown tonight. It does much better now that I raised the suspension.



Dips... and especially dips combined with hard right turns... cause the undertray to scrape but other than that I have no complaints. Handles nicely.
