I'm looking around at 3rd gen RX-7's with the R1 or R2 package. What sort of things should I look for to determine if the car is mechanically sound? Are there noises I should not hear? How should I expect the transmission on a car with somewhat high (80,000-100,000 miles) to feel in terms of play, synchro effectiveness, etc.?

My last car was a 3000GT VR-4, so I know little about these cars or their engines. Any guidelines to follow that anyone knows would help.

Thanks,

Clint Fralick

depending on where you are located the best thing to do would be to bring any car you are seriously thinking about to a rx7 specialist to get checked out if possible it could save you $$$$$$$$
