I'm just asking this question, because recently it has been around 17degreez here in st.louis and my water temp. was around 175-180. It pretty much never goes over. Before i changed my thermostat i had rocking temps. It used to go over 210. And now, since the winter is coming and it's becoming really cold here, I get 175.

I just want to know how cold is too cold. Can i still boost her up at 175 degreez or should i cool off? Or is there anything i can do to get her up to 180 or 185, but not blocking the radiator in front.

Thanks

175 is fine. If it's too cold, the double throttles will limit boost. The water temperature is not the problem when it comes to engine damage, but rather how evenly the heat is distributed throughout the housings. That is why you shouldn't boost until after about 15 minutes of driving.

Sometimes the doublethrottle will close and limit boost, even when the car is really warm enough. This used to happed to me when I got the mazdacomp radiator and cruised on the highway for a while in the cold. I just disabled it. Once the car is around 75-80C I start getting into the boost.

I could see the fast idle cam might not fully open, but other than that, I don't see anything wrong with 175.

I'm sorry i forgot to mention, i removed my double throttle, So i don't boost her untill it reaches normal temp, Which today is around 175-180.
