Ok, whats the normal water temperature I should be running at according to a PFC commander? While im driving its never gone over 97 C, most of the time its in the high 80s. Is this normal? What temp it too hot?

I don't even have a temp gauge yet. I guess this may be why I am rebuilding my engine now too. Dohh

I've seen about 106 during hard driving. I usually start to worry if it's creeping over 110, and stop driving hard over 105. Under normal driving, it never gets above 86, but that's where I set my fans to go on.

ive put gauges on several different rotaries.

in normal driving it should run between 85-95c

and turn it off when it goes over 110c

I have been plagued with high water temps since I bought my car. On a cold day it would goto 90 to 95 on the highway. on a hot day I would see 100+. One day it hit 114 and I was LUCKY that it was about 60 degrees out and there was no traffic so my car was able to cool down to 86.

My koyo radiator pressed the fans shroud against the fan motor and the intercooler causing the fan to go bad. Since I got it fixed my car never goes above 90, with 82 to 86 normal. I set the fans to come on at 90.

about what everyone says to pull over if its at 105 or 110, It depends on your situation. If your in traffic and its at 105, you BETTER Pull over. if your at 105 and there is no more traffic, I would pop my hood (if your latch is strong) and drive it slow. That will cool it off good.

you'd be surprised...when I went into the PFC with the datalogit equipment, I found out that the stock fans turn on in low setting at 100 and high at 105...

now what the **** was Mazda thinking?

I've got mine set now at 84/89...about to go higher...it's getting cool outside here in Okinawa...going to 86/91.
