Not that I like the V-mount all that much, but there is a USED Knightsports one in the

forsale section.

We can talk prices....

Plus we can talk about the new one from KS for cheap hehe $2690 without even talking

to Knightsports. Im sure they would give me 20% off that, and then if we did 10 buyers

I could take another 10% off the top, and I would still make $10 for everyone I sold, sounds

fair to me.

I was into turbo Volvos for many years... they had a large front mount intercooler the same size as the radiator positioned directly in front of the radiator. No additional ducts. Never had any cooling problems even with my 250rwhp Group A car. But then the front grille was like 3 times as big as the RX7's opening.

I know a few other cars are like that too... but maybe it's mostly just the crazy Swedes.

I know... perhaps the problem with most aftermarket FMIC intercoolers is that they are not mounted flush with the radiator like on my Volvos... maybe having the big gap screws up airflow.

Afterall, the AC condensers don't seem to hurt much and they are mounted flush to the radiator.

Maybe it's the big gap between the radiators and intercooler that screws things up and kills airflow.

A radiator Shroud REALLY helps these problems. I have noticed temps actually going up

slightly with a vented hood since it will suck the air up and over the radiator, vise going

threw it. Not that the V-mount solves this, but with a sheet of aluminum and some time

and welding you could make some kickass ducts so when it leave the intercooler it has no

choice but to go threw the radiator too

hrmmm maybe chuck could fabricate a radiator shroud designed specially for his V-mount, that would be very useful.

Very nice Chuck. I think it's a great deal for the money. The advantages that I see with this setup (that haven't already been pointed out) are:

1. very short IC pipes-less lag more boost

2. don't have to chop up the car to make it fit (compared to installing a greddy fmic at least)

3. designed from the ground up to work as a system.

These things alone are worth a couple extra bucks. I'm still itching from cutting up the fiberglass bumper reinfocement last summer to make my FM fit. While the PARTS for the V-mount are more expensive than a FMIC w radiator I think you will pay a lot more in labor to have the FMIC installed. Personally I'd rather invest my money into the parts, especially considering the other advantages previously outlined

I have been very busy lately. Sorry. I am making new style v mount at this time. Here are some spy photos

Hopefully I will have more pictures this weekend. The shrouds will be part of the v mount. Just wait. It will be the most complete v mount on the market.

Very convincing. I've been looking into the V-mount for a couple weeks now, and i finally had the time to read about it. I think it changed my mind from wanting a FMIC to a V-mount. I just have one question that hopefully you can answer chuck. Will the V-mount setup work with the HKS J-spec intake system? I plan on purchasing the V-mount setup within the next month or so. Thanks
