theres ups and downs on the V8 conversion

Downs:

heavier engine than stock

make the handeling a lil wack

Ups:

lots of power

lots of option parts

pretty easy engine to work on (easier than a 13B) especialy if its a Chevy Block

very cheap in price for a rebuild

but ill probly consider a 8 rotor engine in the FD lol jk

just my 0.02 cents

the LS1 block is about 30 lbs heavier than the 13B-rew with intercooler/turbos...not MUCH heavier...remember, it's an aluminum block.

Thanks guys! This thread has bee MOST entertaining! Get a group of car nuts together anywhere in the world and this s$#t always comes up sooner or later!

I love my RE, always will, but quality custom engineering always gets my respect.

'I wouldn't do that but f#@k me he's done a neat job'.................

We are all into cars, & it'd be pretty fuggin boring if we all liked the same ****, we'd be like the Subaru WRX owner clones we have here....(sorry, couldn't resist!)

On the flip side, you guys in America never got it but Mazda had an agreement with Holden (Ozzie GM) to share motors/bodies, so Mazda grabbed a big fat aussie car that normally scores a 6 or V8, called the Holden Premier, and chucked a 13B NA in it, really tasteful floral/paisley deep pile trim and called it the Mazda Roadpacer. Probably the most underpowered car in existence!

Eeeuuuwwww!
