I was just wondering about something. After i did couple of normal runs, I noticed that my underhood temps are higher than before. Before this setup i only had stock ic with rest same and the temps seemed to be lower. Now everything i touch it's hot and really hot. Is it because it's metal and not plastic or what? My water temp shows 180 190 on 66 degreez outside. Is this normal ?

are you asking if the intercooler is making the underhood temps rise? cause if you are, the stock mounts ic's do that,

unless you have a vented hood....you see, the air is now deeper into the engine bay and is not covered by some convoluted piece of plastic...the metal pipes

will also let the heat out mroe rapidly, and this is also something that you will notice under the hood...

so is it ok if both pipes get that hot? I Know that the pipe coming from turbos or y-pipe should be hot, but once it passes through IC, shouldn't

be a little colder on the pipe that goes to manifold?

Also whole ic gets kind of warm.

i believe its getting heat soak. are you noticing this rise in temps after driving alot at consistant speeds.

or just when you are in alot of stop and go traffic. anyways i think it is heat soak. by the way what intercooler and piping kit is that?

see the water temp, gets a little hot when sitting in traffic, but i turn my fans on and then it's ok. It doesn't bother me, but when i open

my hood, i notice that every pipe i touch it's hot. I was just wondering if that's gonna cause me any problems. As i said watter temp

gets around 180-190 without fans. Then i turn my fans on to cool it off.

By the way that's PFS IC, but the previous owner cut one of the pipes to make it fit his single turbo.
