so you don't have a problem with the torque brace ripping your body????
Nope. I bought one off of the group buy on the evil bad forum like 6 months ago with no problems. It kicks ***---really tightens up the shift gates. It definitely improved my times at the drag strip.

Also, mine is a Reagon Racing brace, which is claimed to have been tested over the course of three years of road race, drag race, and auto-x with no detrimental effects to the firewall or UIM.

Gotham Racing is having an initial batch made up right now. I took mine off to use as a template and I can definitely tell a major difference with it off.

I got in on that same buy that Rich did. That torque brace is awesome. I never had much of a problem mishifting but talk about better throttle response. Boy does it make a noticable difference. I was really pleased with the response time from pedal to wheel. I never had any problems with mine on the firewall or anywhere else for that matter. I also have a mazdaspeed shifter FYI.

I haven't mis-shifted since i got my new b&m short shifter, is this the only thing that a torque brace helps with? or are there any other advantages.

Yea like I said in my post you get some better throttle response as you don't lose as much energy is the engine rocking and it all gets transfered to the drive line.

Welcome to nopistons btw

i like th efeel of the torque brace. i just got mine in from the communist rx7 store as it is sometimes called. i think that it is money. the motor doesn't tweak and shutter now. YES my mounts are brand new. i have a b/m shifter as well, and think that the combe of that and the brace make the driving and feel of the car MUCH MORE PRECISE.

the shifter bobs less also.

you can't go wrong. if it tears up the fender, I WILL REPORT IT. however, that happens to be a double layered spot on the fender, so i do not think that it will pose a problem....
