140ish. I don't know how you guys do that. I've been in my brother's 2000 Audi S4, and the speedo read about ~172, we have a video of it, and it's nuts. I can't believe how we managed to stay alive. In the video, we are going over a hill, and the car kinda 'floats' over the hill so to say... nuts i tell ya, i was shaking for about 4 hours straight after that

According to the Yamaguchi book top speed is 158 mph for a stock 3rd gen rx-7. I don't believe that it would do 170 in stock form. At that speed there is alot of air to push and you need more power to overcome aerodynamic drag. I took mine up to 175 before I got scared and let off. This was when I was still on twins making about 360 rwhp. It was still pulling hard.

i've taken my FC to ~140 in 4th, at rev limiter. Went to 5th and there was nothin left, I think it actually decelerated at WOT heh. We'll see what she does in 5th with the new street ported motor. The car felt really solid at that speed, the amount of downforce is quite nice > 100mph... I just need some better tires, I think I was like 30mph past the rating.

I've gotten mine up to 140, I think it's more fun to go on the back roads with some friends then see how fast you can get your car.

It's rare if I take my car out and don't hit 140Mph. It seems like it only takes about 8 seconds for me to get from speed limit (65) up to 140 and back down to the speed limit...
I'll have to datalogit next time so I know what that number (in seconds) really is...
