dom - I hadn't even looked over and noticed you were in Germany. So I guess you do have alot more opportunities to open it up than us poor suckers over here. However, if I were over there I'd want my car to be as strong as possible in the 80-150mph area. Chances are, if you and "other car" hit it at around 100mph, if you can pull 3 or 4 car lengths on him by 150, you can shut down and will have made your point. But if top speed is your thing, more power to ya.

I topped out my car at 167 when it was stock. I ran out of round though. I may have been able to squeeze a few more out of her.

I had my car up to 160mph with the windows down, it was like formula one, my head was shaking pretty hard, but i was pretty impressed at how quickly it got there though.

Yeah, non stop accleration is something that was engineered real well on the FD. I didn't know it was geared stock to 200mph. I haven't been on roads suitable for speed testing for a couple months though. If I'm out running around by myself on the weekends, there's a few places I'll get up over 100 pretty easily, but I get more pleasure out of the turns and the pedal workout on the backroads. Top speeding becomes exponentially dangerous once you get over about 100-110. Its not that you can't plan well to slow down in time, its just that without a perfect conditioned roadway, you have to be easy on the breaks and steering over bumps. Bigger wheels and tires are a must. I can't wait until I get that stuff done. But either way, FD drivers are nuts, right guys?

I've been to 150mph indicated. Like someone else said, who knows how much the speedo is off by.
